The basis of the writer's art is not his skill but his willingness to write,
his desire to write, in fact his inability not to write. - Joyce Carol Oates
If you find that the above quote applies to youthat there are stories, poems or plays in you that need to find their voice through your fingertips on the keyboardyou might just find this a fiting fellowship to aid in developing that craft. We are a group of writers who regularly gather to share the sounds of our works in words that we might encourage one another and cultivate the craft.
Our twice monthly meetings generally start with a brief "meet and greet" time to introduce new guests and share personal successes and challenges (aka rejections from publishers). But we must quickly move on to the real business of the evening: reading our works and hearing critique. While we make every effort to accentuate the positive, we also try to try to uncover the negative in an effort to help everyone make the most of their talent. Each month, news of our meeting and a brief synopis of our Thursday evening critiques are published in our newsletter, Printed Matters.
